The electrical flip tong for horizontal and vertical coils is used to lift a vertical coil and rotate it 90° in the air, allowing it to be placed horizontally on the ground, or to lift a horizontal coil and rotate it 90°, placing it vertically on the ground. Main applications include: In the iron and steel industries, coils are rotated from horizontal to vertical for loading onto trains or vehicles; steel transfer units or facilities rotate vertical coils to horizontal, and cold rolling mills flip horizontal coils to vertical for efficient loading into or unloading from annealing furnaces.
